John Boswell (University of Southampton) will discuss the use of meta-ethnography in his forthcoming book, How Citizens Encounter the Democratic State (Oxford University Press, 2026). John Boswell’s research focuses on contemporary issues and themes in democratic governance and public policy. He has published extensively on deliberative democracy; bureaucratic encounters and policy feedback; and interpretive and qualitative methods, among other topics.
