Marnie Howlett Discusses Online Interviewing

Interpretivists do Interpretive Methods Series

Marnie Howlett (Oxford) will discuss online interviewing from an interpretive lens. Professor Howlett is a political scientists and a methodologist whose research lies at the nexus of geopolitics, cartography, borders, and nationalism within Central and Eastern Europe. She also studies research ethics, and visual, spatial, and digital methods for political science research. Her publications on methods include “Looking at the ‘Field’ Through a Zoom Lens: Methodological Reflections on Conducting Online Research During a Global Pandemic” (2022) and a co-authored piece published in Perspectives in Politics: "When 'Home' Becomes the 'Field': Ethical Considerations in Digital and Remote Fieldwork” (2022).
